Of course, Tiffany glass refers to the type of colorful glass developed in the 1800s by Louis Tiffany and designers in NYC. This is probably the most well-known type of glass. Another name for Tiffany Windows or picture windows is simply "stained glass". This is a highly detailed, hand crafted piece of artwork. Every piece may be slightly different because of this. Throughout history, stained glass windows were installed as decorative elements in churches and significant places. But this artistic creation using glasswork in small pieces to form a pattern or picture, held together by soldered metal strips, and then created within a frame is such a popular addition to the typical household that the types of stained glass panels being made, and the pictures on them grew and grew.

How To Hang A Stained Glass/ Tiffany Glass Window

To hang a stained glass window (not installing it in an existing framework) you can hang the wood or metal framed piece by a variety of different methods, both temporary or permanent. The simplest way is to attach some hooks to the stained glass. Preferable two or more hooks, which attach to the frameworks of the window and then panel themselves. You can place the hooks so that you avoid interfering with opening or closing the window. If the glass pieces is very heavy, additional hooks will help. This way you can make the piece portable and take it with you if you move. Many stained glass windows are crafted with small hook holes in the piece to allow for this. So you would simply attach some hooks to the existing framework of the window and add a wire or chain to the stained glass piece. You want to make sure to get into the framing so the window is well-supported and also center it so the glass, no matter how small, is centered within the window. For a full window installation you may need someone to help you install the caulking around the frame. Make sure you use the appropriate hardware.
